Holly was going to surprise Bo with a puppy. She visited the Orange County German Shepherd Rescue website late one night and saw Divot's picture and knew right then that she was the puppy for them. Holly stopped looking and went to bed planning on telling Bo the next day. Bo called Holly at work the next morning wondering why the Rescue website was up on their home computer screen.
Holly explained that she was finally ready for another dog to join their family (their 13 year old Labrador Juno had passed away a year and a half prior). Bo started looking at the photos of puppies on the rescue website and at the long list of stats of each of the many puppies they had. From work, Holly too, went to the website so that they both could look at the puppies at the same time.
Holly quickly showed Bo the photo of Divot and agreed that Divot was adorable, but she still wanted wanted to look through the other puppies. So Bo continued to scroll through the list of photos and stats. All the meanwhile, she would scroll back up to the picture of Divot at the request of Holly.
After scrolling back to Divot's picture 8 times(!), they laughed and agreed that she was the one for them. They quickly emailed the rescue and got a response within the hour of who to contact.
Holly and Bo were both so excited that Divot was still available! The moment they saw her they knew that they would be bringing her home that night! Holly and Bo are avid golfers and quickly named their new pup Divot. Their 4 year old cat, Mulligan, is Divot's best friend, only Mully just doesn't know it yet.
Holly and Bo have never been happier. Divot is a superstar and everyone who meets her instantly falls in love. She is gentle, beautiful, unique and doesn't bark! They have only heard her bark about 6 times in the 9 months they've had her. At almost 11 months old, she is 62 pounds and 27 inches at her shoulders. She has driven to Dallas, TX and Incline Village, NV (north Lake Tahoe) to visit Grandpa in the snow. She even has her own website!
